When Grace Finds Us

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 22:42 43 There is something very moving about this moment on Calvary. Two men hung beside Jesus, both facing the same suffering, both knowing their time was short. Yet only one turned toward Him with a quiet plea. It was not a polished prayer. It was not filled with promises or long explanations. It was simply a tired heart asking to be remembered. We often carry an idea that we need to clean ourselves up before approaching Jesus. We try to craft the right words, fix our mistakes, or at least put on a braver face. But the thief reminds us that grace meets us exactly where we are. He had nothing to offer except honesty. And that was enough. Jesus did not pause to consider his past. He did not hesitate. He answered with the kind of assurance that brings peace even to a troubled soul.
