Living with the Fear of the Lord—And Trusting That God Sees It All

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” —Proverbs 9:10 1. What Is the Fear of the Lord? To many, “fear” suggests something negative—dread, anxiety, or punishment. But the Fear of the Lord is holy, sacred, and life-giving. It’s not about being afraid of God as a tyrant, but about having deep reverence, awe, and humility before His infinite power, love, and justice. It is a fear born of love—a child’s desire never to offend their loving Father. When we fear God rightly, we align our lives with His truth. We reject sin not because we are afraid of punishment, but because we do not want to hurt the One who loves us most. 2. Why We Must Not Make Peace with Sin The devil thrives where there is spiritual passivity. He whispers that our sins are small, that there’s no urgency to repent, that we’ll fix things “tomorrow.” This is how many souls slowly fall asleep in spiritual complacency. But sin is never harmless—it separates us from grace and blinds us to God’s presence. The m...

Embracing the Mystery of Life Through the Power of Silence

"Be still and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 Life is a profound mystery—an unfolding journey filled with beauty, pain, growth, unpredictability, and divine invitation. Yet, in our attempt to understand it, control it, or rush through it, we often forget the sacred dimension of simply being. In an age of noise, speed, and distraction, the soul’s greatest need is often silence—not the absence of sound, but the presence of God’s voice in stillness. This chapter explores the essence of life, not merely as existence, but as a divine pilgrimage. It reveals how the sacred power of silence is essential to understand life deeply, grow spiritually, and walk with God. 1. Life: A Journey, Not a Destination Life is not something we can define in a single phrase. It is unpredictable, rich with emotion, and layered with events and experiences that shape us day by day. Life is a gift, not a guarantee. It’s filled with joy and sorrow, success and failure, trials and triumphs. Scripture te...

From Wounds to Wisdom – Finding God’s Purpose in Pain

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 Pain is a universal human experience. No one escapes it—be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental. But in a world that runs from suffering, numbs it, and curses it, the Christian is called to something radically different: to embrace it, transform it, and offer it to God. In this chapter, we reflect on how pain is not meaningless, and how God can redeem every scar, turning sorrow into sanctity, wounds into wisdom, and trials into transformation. 1. Understanding Pain: A Tool, Not a Curse Pain is not always punishment. Sometimes, it is preparation. God never wastes a wound. He allows pain not to destroy us but to awaken us, mold us, and purify us. Pain reveals: Our need for God. Our human limitations. The brokenness of the world. Like gold refined in fire (Malachi 3:3), we too must pass through pain’s crucible to become spiritually mature, humble, and dep...

Do Not Make Peace with the Devil—Fight Him

Do Not Make Peace with the Devil—Fight Him “Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith.” —1 Peter 5:8–9 1. The Comfort of Sin and the Devil’s Tactics The devil is cunning. He knows that an open war against the soul might awaken it to fight back. So instead, he whispers. He makes sin feel comfortable, even desirable. He dulls our spiritual senses, numbing the conscience little by little. He paints evil as good, and good as extreme or unnecessary. He lies to us, saying, “There’s no rush to repent,” “God understands,” or “You can fix it later.” This is how he wins—by making us delay repentance and feel falsely secure. The more we sin and ignore the call to conversion, the more we lose the graces we need to resist him. Every sin distances us from God and draws us into spiritual blindness, where we begin to excuse evil and suppress the voice of truth within. Sin is like a slow pois...
