The Two who went for the job interview

THE TWO MEN WHO WENT FOR A JOB INTERVIEW

Some time back two men read about a certain job opportunity in the newspaper and being unemployed, ther felt it wire to give it a try by submitting in their qualificatwins, they were from different places and had never met actually. They submitted in their application letters and luckily enough they got summoned to go the company headquarters the following week for an interview. 

The boss individually looked at their qualifications and all were satisfactory to be employed, he became so puzzled on who he should employ since there was only a single vacancy left in the company, he subjected both men to different tests outside the programmed interview scheduled and he was shocked that both passed with higher marks and both looked beyond qualified for the position. The man wanted to be fair enough while offering the job but could not find any other methods and ways to select the most fit person for the job. He sat down and thought for a while. "What can I possibly do now that I have subjected them all to the test I could use to get one person out of the two? Out of a sudden, an idea came into his mind and he summoned the two intelligent men into his office, he pulled out a ten thousand note from his wallet and told them to divide the money equally of which they did, he then led the two men into one of his rentals and gave each one of them a single room distant from each other. "Today at 7pm, I will come to inspect each one of you, use the money I have given you both to fill the rooms to the maximum". The boss said as he left.

Person A looked astounded and shocked, "how can five thousand shillings fill this big room?", he asked himself, whereas, person B looked calm and excited at the task at hand. Person A thought so hard and came up with a plan that seemed quite convicing to him, he set off to a garbage collection site, he found people dumping and piling rubbish at the site, he went out to the person incharge and requested that some of the garbage be loaded on the truck and delivered to his place, and he offered to pay them five thousand shillings. The garbage was loaded onto the truck and taken to his place, unloaded and filled into his single room. Looking at that, he was so amazed to see the whole room filled up with such a small amount of money, he was so happy that he was finally going to land the job and cease to be unemployed anymore. 

Meanwhile, Person B went into the shop and requested for a candle and match box of which it costed him a total of two hundred shillings, meaning he was left with a balance of four thousand and eight hundred shillings. He heads home and lights the candle linto the room, the whole house including all the corners where all filled up with the light from the single candle.

The time reached for the boss to inspect the two houses, he begins with Person A, on seeing the boss, he was so happy and he welcomed the boss joyfully into his house. "What do have for me?"" The boss asked. He replied, "I did what you required of me, I filled my room just as you wanted it filled" He goes on and opens the door, bottles and all the rubbish rushed and popped out as the door was opened, the boss felt so ashamed and questioned the man's ability to be productive if employed, he (the boss) however, didn't show it to the man and rather pretended to be happy but of course no verdict was given yet. "Come tomorrow at the office and we see what to do", the boss told the man.

The boss then proceeds to the house of person B gloomy and disappointed at what he saw, the person B sees him from distance and he was filled with too much joy that the boss couldn't resist expressing his joy as well. "Sir, here is your balance from the money you gave me", The boss was perplexed and asked the man, "what did you use the money for that almost the whole amount was left unspent?". The man replied joyfully, "come, have a look for yourself, see what I have for you!". He opened the door and the whole light from the room shone bright at their faces and illuminated the whole area, the boss could not believe what he was seeing. He had never thought that the man could be that creative and innovative, he could not hide his joy for the man for he expressed the highest level of creativity to fulfil and achieve a maximum task; he summoned the man to his office the following morning.

A new dawn arose and both men came to the office, guess who gets the job? To cut the story short, Person B got the job over person A simply because of his creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial skills.

To put it in christian life, the house is our soul, the garbage is the devil, the light is Jesus, what are you filling in your house today? Is it the devil or Jesus? It is a question I have for you all to ponder.
